Vitaco were in the process of purchasing a high-speed bar-making line for a new range of quality protein rich bar products.
The challenges faced were the speed of the products as well as the large carton range (and styles) they required to meet their market. From glued take-home 4 packs to shelf-ready tuck-in 16 packs at 300 bars per minute.
The solution we developed was a top load three flap carton erecting module with a flighted main drive to deliver cartons to a loading position. Our proven bar management system allowed consistent bar pitching into the machine and then loading into changeable flighted belts for presentation to the robot.
The ABB Flexpicker robot with our customised pick heads picked and orientated the bars to load into the cartons as required to meet the customer’s brief. The cartons were glued closed or tucked in depending on the SKU being packed.
Our integrated, advanced operation ensures the best quality cream cheese is produced consistently.
It was an opportunity to increase the packing line automation, with labour savings offsetting the capital costs.
RML worked with us to understand our requirements and designed a solution to suit our needs. RML delivered an automated system to service two moulding machines producing the Gallagher Ring Top Posts.
We set RML a challenge, design and build a new butter packing machine for a challenging application. RML produced a smart and effective solution that exceeded our expectations.
