RML embraced the principles of Industry 4.0.

A huge thank you to the to the EMA, LMAC, and Callaghan Innovation teams for their outstanding work in organising the RML Industry 4.0 Factory Tour. We wanted to take a moment to thank you and your teams for your hard work and dedication in making it happen.

The diversity of the tour group was also a valuable aspect of the experience. Having representatives from different backgrounds and industries brought a wealth of knowledge and perspective to the tour. It allowed for robust discussions and insights on how Industry 4.0 can be applied in different contexts and how the learnings from the tour can be implemented in different settings.

The tour started with a walkthrough of the Manufacturing area. The RML manufacturing process has undergone significant changes over the years, from manual processes to the use of software tools like MYOB to optimise efficiency.

MYOB allows our manufacturing team to optimise the manufacturing process by tracking and analysing data related to production and inventory levels. This data can be used to identify bottlenecks and make informed decisions about production schedules and resource allocation.

Next, in the Production area where they were greeted by robots and machinery. This is where advanced sensors and cameras are used to monitor the production process and detect any defects or errors, allowing for preventative maintenance and reducing downtime.

Our team can connect to the cloud, providing real-time data analysis and reporting. This allows for remote monitoring and control, making it possible for our team to make informed decisions based on accurate, up-to-date information.

Finally, in the Design area, where we refine machine parts and designs before they are built. How 3D printing and other advanced manufacturing techniques are being used to create complex, customised solutions with greater precision and speed.

To conclude, Industry 4.0 automation machinery is revolutionising the manufacturing industry, providing companies with new opportunities to improve their processes and deliver better results. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more exciting advancements in the years to come.
